Spoken language is predominantly English although there are some Spanish speaking residents.The City of Cottonwood Heights, UT is located along the East side of the Salt Lake Valley, South of Holladay and Murray, and North of Sandy. It is known as the gateway to the Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons as it predominantly consists of the ridge between the canyons. In fact, its official nickname is “city between the canyons.”

These include Danish Town, Butler bench, Pepper’s hill, and Colebrook corner, to name just a few. There are historic roadways through the city as well, including Will Dyer’s Road and Union Fort Road.

Apartment complexes compose the next largest category, at about 20%. The remaining types of structures include rowhouses/attached homes, smaller apartments, as well as mobile homes, which make up 0.67% of houses.

Older homes built between 1940 and 1969 fall into the next category, at 21.36%, while historic houses built in 1939 or prior make up 0.32% of the standing structures.
