There are several colleges nearby, including Salt Lake Community College, Stevens-Henager College-Murray, Western Governors University, and the University of Utah.
The city is divided into several neighborhoods. The eastern region of the city includes the East Granger, Redwood, and Chesterfield neighborhoods. This area has a population of about 55,000. Many of the homes in these neighborhoods are brick ranch style houses. The central region of the city includes West Granger and Hunter. These two neighborhoods have a combined population of about 50,000. There are several business parks, office developments, and other commercial establishments in the area. The western region of the city consists of Woodhaven, Oquirrh, and West Hunter and has a population of about 30,000. Most of this area is residential, and there are many housing developments that were constructed in the 1990s and 2000s.
